Research for What

28 Aug 2022 • Applied Research • Workshops & Seminars

A discussion about the scope and extent of work needed to conduct research across different types of programmes, organisations and types of communities.

For arts practitioners who teach and work in schools and with communities.

Research about arts practices with communities has become a buzz word among institutions and artist-facilitators. It holds the promise of programme validation and associated funding support for the future. Research however comes in different shapes and sizes, depending on the overall agenda of the programme or project.

Join Dr. Felicia Low (Community Cultural Dimensions) for a discussion about the scope and extent of work needed to conduct research across different types of programmes, organisations and types of communities. She will be referring to her own past projects and experiences to highlight aspects of applicability and practice.

By the end of the session, there should be more clarity on the difference between programme evaluation, pedagogical research and impact study research, and the extent of resources needed to complete each type of research.
